There is an expression in Afrikaans 'niks gewoond nie' which directly translated means not used to anything and I think that describes us South Africans at the moment .
We are so grateful to have something of this magnitude taking place in our country .Whether or not you enjoy football we are all behind Bafana Bafana.
our local team.
Even the blogs and cards have the football flavour and one of our blogettes Tertia was at the opening ceremony.
The excitement in East London is a wee bit diluted as we have no matches here, however you can still feel it.... and for the rugby fans the Springboks are playing Italy here next month.
I made this card for 2 challenges asking for buttons but the button on the bow looked so drab i had to bling it up a bit and now it can't be seen so I have changed my strategy and am entering it for a few glitter challenges.
I had to try and get the lovely winter sun sparkling off the butterflies and hence the funny shadow on the ribbon but let me assure you the card looks rather good.
The lovely butterflies are from my sister in the Netherlands as are the sparkles on them and the sparkly ribbon is from Sharon in Cape town (pop over to her blog , some lovely cards and loads of chat.
Actually there are loads of glittery challenges so I am entering in:
the Cupcake craft ' Dazzle Us' challenge , the Frosted Designs 'glitter, glitter and more glitter' challenge, Fairy fun Friday is also asking for glitter and glitz as is Shelleys Images and Meljens designs .Boy I am not doing too badly with this card.
Have a look at these blogs some of them I discovered for the first time...but they are all worth a visit.
Please enjoy your Sunday , watch the football and leave me a comment ...thank you
