Background work

Decided to join in the ARTastic challenge again this month where the challenge was to get crafty with your background .
I used gesso with a mask and then coloured it with my Derwent pencils.

Love the way the layout of my daughter Ashleigh turned out , but struggled so with photographing it. I have read a few tutorials on the subject ,  but despite this was unable to capture all the elements of my page as well as the vibrant colours.  Oh well , will keep trying !

I also made use of lots of washi tape , sent to me by my dear sister and had to use stars as Ashleigh loves stars.
I hope that you like it.

  1. Well if this is the result of bad photography, then I can't wait to see the real thing!! I love these selfies of Ash, and you have done a wonderful job sis. xxxx I am enjoying feeding your crafting addiction, but I must say that it is sometimes difficult to part with that beautiful washi tape :-)

  9. Great page Wendy...love the fun photos and fun elements! ;-) Photographing a white card bases project is never that easy...but as Lizzy has said...it's about getting the right amount of light. I find in sunlight, but not always direct sunlight...is the best and then you can touch it up with a photo adjustment software, like ACDpro or even Microsoft Picture Manager... they are easy to use and have auto adjustments that work like a charm! ;-)
