Paragliding in Paradise

Ages since my last post and boy did i STRUGGLE with this layout ... why i dont know .
I wanted a certain effect and did not achieve it.
I read on an extremely talented scrappers blog that if she is really  not happy with a layout she discards it  .... not me

Well even if I am not altogether happy I still have the pictures and the memory to look at . In this layout, I did  manage to tell the  story of Karens paragliding adventure.
The  directions from the coach to the "take off" area were to turn right at the Caltex garage on the Wilderness road which we duly did, however none of the other landmarks he mentioned appeared . A few kms later , a few moans and groans , a phone call to him and we discovered there were TWO Caltex garages so... a detour and we were on our way to the Map of Africa which is an elevated area overlooking the stunning  Wilderness beach area.

So looking at the layout I have the route marker , service station, detour sign and then the one way trip from the top of the hill  to the beach for Karen.

I am entering ( at the eleventh hour ) in the Scrap Around the World challenge and from the Mood board I have used the cracks (my paper) , the glasses (Karens in the first photo)and have stamped the circles to match those in the bottom right corner  as well .

I also think if you are paragliding it is a case of dont overthink ...just let go.
So hope you like it !

  2. Hi Wendy, I got here via Lizzy Hill. She suggests ten blogs worth visiting. So here I am and I thoroughly enjoyed your paragliding story. The whole getting lost bit is represented in your layout as the arrows take you all around the page before looking at the stunning photos. Very clever! Thanks for sharing it.

  7. It is very seldom that I discard a page either....because even if your background dosn't quite work out, when you start adding to it and add your photo's it always seems to come together! ;-) That's my experience, in anycase! ;-) I love that stencilled areas on the side of your page....and the colouring gorgeous! The photo's are certainly stunning too! Such a great experience to document and remember! ;-)
