Then

I loved the mood board at Scrap Around the World and really enjoyed using Gesso and stencils and my new inks for the first time.

I don't know the story behind this very old photo of my Mom and wish I had the negative so I could have a better copy made, as it  is a lovely picture. In the background is what looks like a pier with a lighthouse, which is the part of the Mood Board that I loved the most.
I also used the sketch at Once Upon a Sketch as inspiration.

Let me know what you think please.

  6. Hi Wendy... I can totally relate to this layout. I have photos of my mom and I have no idea of the what, why, when scenario and there is no one that can tell me. I love this era though. Look how glamorous she looks lying on the sand. Not a care in the world. Love the corrugated card under it, and how you have extended the beach onto your layout...love the shells... thank you so much for playing along with us at OUAS this month.

  10. I am so glad I found you through the comment you left on my blog. I am always on the lookout for fellow scrapbookers from South Africa. I love the texture of your page...and the beautiful photo of your mom. I remember asking my mom lots of questions about her youth and the day she got married. She doesn't share much and one feels left out.

  11. What a neat layout, Wendy! Your mom's photo is so neat. Don't you just love looking at our parents when they were in their prime? It's the coolest feeling.
