Dots and Stripes

I have been absent form my blog for quite awhile ( again) but have been busy with Scrapbooking! I love making cards but being far from family and friends , and with a very costly and unreliable postal service my collection was building up . So i donated  all but a few  to the Hospice shop and decided to start Scrapping all those people I am missing as well as remembering some of those past events and occasions by putting them on paper.
I am very new to this but think it is going to be loads of fun.  I can still use all my cardie tools and embellishments but to give me a kickstart and add to my inspiration my sister  Dawn sent me  2 wonderful parcels of scrapping items.
So here is my first entry to a Scrap challenge , namely the Dots and Stripes challenge over at Scrap our Stash. I first Googled polka dots to make sure I qualify ( don't want to be ineligible on my first challenge)and I have dots  on the pink backing paper, the ribbon and the embellishment and  stripes on the  paper  backing the photos as well as the  "she "label . I also have the added butterflies .
So I hope you like this layout which is of my daughter Ashleigh at her 21 st Birthday braai.
