A Challenging Time

With all the ups and downs we have experienced the past few weeks, this post could very easily be pages long.

To sum up as briefly as possible we have moved to a new town, 600 kms from my daughter and Mam.We chose the town of Sedgefield as our new home and the place we would like to make our retirement spot when the time comes.

The move itself has been extremely trying,we had problems getting all our furniture ,getting our phone and ADSL connections etc etc.
As if that wasn't enough our new hometown (a water stressed area) was hit by heavy rains which meant the carefully planned walls and paving were on again off again, which stressed our dogs as they were under house arrest.

Anyway I said briefly so I will leave it at that for now , although feel free to contact me should you want to hear the full length feature story.

It wasn't all doom and gloom 'cos when we eventually got our internet up and running i discovered I had won Lil Daffodils Blog candy ... and she hadn't given it to someone else when I hadn't responded immediately...thank you Fiona
To keep things consistent I struggled unbelievably with this card ...even having to redo my sentiment after I cut myself with my new scissors (they are called "smile"scissors -should have been called 'swearing" scissors)
But the card is complete and I do like it despite how challenging it was to make.
I used the Mojo Monday sketch as my inspiration so will be entering in the following challenges:

Mojo Monday 194 use the sketch.

Ooh-la-la challenge 81 Happy Birthday

And here is my entry...let me know your opinion please. Please note as a dramatic touch I left the builders stuff visible in the background to try and illicit some sympathy!

  1. You can have all my sympathy as moving is bad enough without the hassles of rain and all the rest. Hope you settle in well and wishing lots of happy times in that lovely part of South Africa. Love your card and the Mother's day card was really lovely.

  2. Oh my word, you have had a rough time - how's that for the suggested sympathy!! LOL, I really feel for you. Moving on it's own is stressful without Mother Nature's intervention.
Good to have you back and may your crafting soothe the soul. Love the card by the way.....

  4. Oh gosh Wendy, you have certainly had a trying time. So you've moved to Sedgefield... wow. I believe it is absolutely beautiful there. Once you've settled in you can let me know all about it. Love your card honey and yes, looking at all the builder's rubble, I feel your pain. hugs Sharon x

  6. Hey you have been busy, and I thought you were so hectic with the move that you didn't have time for carding! You must have tons of new inspiration around you. Hope the postal service is better from there ;-) Looking forward to actually receiving a card again! :-)
