somethin new

My sister sends me gift packs of goodies on a regular basis, sometimes a little envelope others a beeeg one.
Sometimes she will send me something and I will think hmmmmm, now how can i use this.
But there always seems to come an occasion where I see a card or a challenge and I go scrabbling through my craft cupboards for that unused 'something"

The point of this bit of waffle is that while cruising the blogs this morning I came across a stunning card at Dana's blog with a link to a utube video on how to make the flowers she used on her card.
The tutorial showed how to make a felt flower and I said- hold on just a minute Dawn sent me some felt and ........ so I made a quite sweet felt flower , my first -and soooo easy to make.(although i did have some difficulty gluing it as the felt seems to gobble up the glue.)

Usually I photograph my work and then crop it afterwards and as I couldn't find my stand decided to use a plate. When I walked outside to take my photo Chuck the hungry staffie thought I was bringing him a snack and my card was almost devoured!

I decided not to crop it this time as I thought it looked quite good as is, plate and all.
I have used the Hero arts flourishes stamp set compliments of little sister ,as is the felt as is the ribbon and the little metal bud on it.

  9. Oh, WEndy, this is fabulous! You mastered the making of your own felt flower, I must say. And you combined both challenges beautifully, too. So glad you played along with us at the Cafe again!

  12. I had to come over and find your handmade flower and think this must be the one! It's lovely and so is the card - it would be great to see you over a Daring Cardmakers with another one this week but if not at least I've had a peek here.

    Love Lynda xxx
